Cannes is celeb central! I wanted to share a few photos with you as well as share some styling tips on how to recreate these awesome looks!
I will begin by talking about the style worn by Madonna.

Her style is the HOT, flirty, loose curled look. The folks the artists at GHD (flat iron company) give these tips on how to create the vertical wave:
- First, insert the flat iron horizontally at the base of the section, then flip it upward 180-degrees.
- As you move the styler down the strand, flip it backward and forward in a wave-like motion.
- Keep it moving at all times to prevent creasing and to keep the wave pattern consistent.
- At the end of the section, turn the thermal tool under to keep the tips smooth.
The back of Madonna’s hair is loosely pinned with bobby pins by taking varying sections, making a loose pin curl and pinning it. Leave some of the ends out to give that “just out of bed” look.
Aishwarya Rai and Eva Longoria’s styles are all the rave this season! For that exact reason I have a “hair styling tips” page (located on this site) that has 2 videos to teach you different ways to recreate these styles!

Katie Holmes, Rihanna, Monica Bellucci, and Sharon Stone are wearing the a sleek style that is best created with a smoothing iron and the right product!

My product of choice is Sebastian Laminates Crema Styler Anti-Frizz Control with Shine styling product (AMAZING! I SWEAR by this stuff!) My favorite smoothing iron is Paul Mitchel Ionic Iron - their newest flat iron…it rocks!
- After shampooing and towel drying your hair, add the Sebastian product. Blow dry your hair using a wrap technique. Think of your brush as the semi truck and the blow dryer as your trailer, wrap the hair so it goes one way around the head, then flip to the other side. Do the same thing. What this does is dries the hair with the cuticle down, which provides more shine. It takes a few minutes longer than power drying, but hey, the shine is worth it!
- Next, since the hair is dry, you can begin to flat iron. Take small sections and smooth the hair. If you are getting lines in your hair check the temp of your iron (bleached blondes DO NOT need it set on 400 degrees!). Also, don’t SQUEEZE so hard, think of the fact that you are smoothing your hair.
Until next time! Hope every day is a great hair day!
