Fitness

Fitness is something that I love.  I can honestly say that teaching group fitness is the highlight of my day!

Growing up my nickname was “Fatso” and “Thunder Thighs”, many people that knew me as a child/teen are shocked when they find out that I am so involved with fitness.  I often joke with them and let them know that I turned a negative into a positive.  My weight struggle did not just last throughout my teens, it has been something I have struggled with throughout my life.   Today, however, I am at the top of my game.  I know that getting fit is not a race, but a journey.  I know that deep inside me is my “fat girl” just waiting to get out.  In order to keep “her” at bay, I have learned that I need to eat a  “clean” diet and make fitness, as well as my health, a priority.

My goal is to inspire others to put themselves and fitness first. Often we place ourselves (our health) on the back burner to others in our life (work, children, family).   But to honestly take care of the “others” in our life, we need to take care of ourselves FIRST!  I applaud anyone and everyone that takes 15, 20, 30, 45, or 60 minutes out of their day to workout.  It means you have decided to put yourself and your HEALTH first!

I hope I get to meet you one day in a fitness class!  Currently I teach at LA Fitness and Bally Total Fitness.  I also teach private sessions through my company called Serious Workouts and Training by Alicia (S.W.A.T).
